According to Appendix 2 issued together with this Decree, cases that must be capitalized for making sentences include:

Capitalize the first letter of the first syllable of a complete sentence: After a punctuation mark (.); after the question mark (?); after the exclamation point (!) and at the end of a line.

Meanwhile, in the past, according to Circular 01/2011/TT-BNV, capital letters were required in the case after the ellipsis (…); after colon (:); after the colon in quotation marks (: “…”) and Capitalize the first letter of the first syllable of the clause after the semicolon (;) and the comma (,) when entering a new line).

In summary, according to current regulations (Decree 30/2020/ND-CP), after a colon no longer has to be capitalized as before.

According to the provisions of Decree 30/2020/ND-CP stipulating that: After the punctuation mark (.); after the question mark (?); after an exclamation mark (!) and when entering a line, the first letter of the first syllable of a complete sentence must be capitalized.
