Hoang Kieu was born into a family with a Confucian tradition. However, due to the political upheaval at that time, Hoang Kieu’s family was very difficult. In 1975, he left Vietnam to live in the US. He is an American citizen and resides in Los Angeles, California. Hoang Kieu’s family has to live under the auspices of the Women’s Club and the Methodist Church in Westlake Village.
