This is the first time the Huey has landed near a rose garden and an important one at that. Over 1500 people were waiting for the Huey to land-Veterans from WWII to the present.
As soon as the blades stopped there was a flood of people to see the veteran helicopter.
People of all ages gathered,,,                           here Veteran John Guzeman gets a shot with friends
Here Pilot Pat Rodgers gets a picture with Gary Roush of the V.H.P.A...  even the tail is interesting..
Here volunteer Joe Crutcher, a former Seawolf, talks to people about the Huey.
Frank gets a picture with a little visitor,,                         Here a huey veteran waited 2 hours before
finally climbing in the ole bird...
Van smiles as the other veteran talks about the past....                     Tom chats with Russ
"Girls are vet's too" Here from the left is C-130 flight engineer who just retired from the USAF, a former C-5 loadmaster and Shayne a retired USAF MSgt and part of the museum staff. "you go girls!"
Early morning shot taken on the 12th, before anybody else showed up...
These ladies all had a message for the Taliban....use your imagination....
The take-off----the following show the spectacular take-off they Huey made--nobody was expecting the Huey to "dissappear" below the hill...the crowd yelled and clapped in total approval!
OK,, where'd they go!  If you close you can just see the top of the blades...
Then they pulled up and banked left--it was great!  After re-fueling in Camarillo, they came back for a farewell flyover...
