The museum is located at French Valley Airport, in Murrieta, Ca. which is situated off of Winchester Rd. (SR-79), just east of I-215. We are currently in two hangars-one is located at the Executive Air Park at the north end of the airport and the other at the south end of the airport. This location is temporary, while we pursue a new larger hangar located at the south end of the airport. The new facility will accomodate all of our aircraft, restoration, displays, future gift shop, offices and event space. The museum will need to raise approximately one million dollars to accomplish this, and will kick off an official fundraiser in 2008..

Due to security concerns at the airport, we are not "open" to the public, as there are locked gates to the area we are at, therefore we operate on an appointment basis-call us first and we will get you in. If you fly in, then you will just need to taxi or walk down to the north end where the big Executive hangars are. We are in 2-D. We are there Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm, and in the summer we will be there on Saturdays. We are pursuing an agressive air show schedule, so there may be weekends where we are out of town. Check our airshow page to see where we will be and when. The airport has a great Cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We currently do not charge admission-but ask for a tax deductible donation of $3.00 to see our aircraft up close and visit our restoration hangar as well. Our aircraft fly, so their expenses are much higher than that of static (non-flying) aircraft.

We take great pride in our restorations striving for exact historical accuracy in their appearance, and learning as much as possible about the units they may have served in. It is our belief that we better serve the public and veterans by being as accurate as possible down to the last detail. Wings and Rotors Air Museum (formerly Whittier Aviation Museum) is 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit organization that relies on donations to operate. We offer many different sponsorship opportunities both for corporations and individuals. No donation is considered to small! We also welcome donations in-kind such as display materials, restoration supplies, aircraft, aircraft parts, tools and artifacts. We will soon be displaying artifacts and welcome gifts from veterans and their families. Items we are need of can be found on our museum "wish list". If you are interested in donating artifacts or other materials, let us know!

This photo shows the runway extension while it was in-work. It was finished on April 4th 2005, and is now 6,400 feet. Our hangars are located at the far right of the photo.
